Nompilo Maphumulo is a South African actress who has played a role of Nosipho Xulu in the SABC1 soapie Uzalo.

She was born and brought up in KwaMashu township in the area of Durban and attended the performing arts school in KwaMashu Community Advancement Projects (KCAP).

KCAP is a non-profit making organisation and it is famous in the production of acclaimed theatre productions. Nompilo graduated in 2011.

The theatre was the initial theatre practiced by Nompilo as she worked in various productions in Durban including Sugar Daddies, The Weeping Candle, the Madame President Musical, and The Legend Will Never Die.

She starred in the 2014 feature film, Between Friends: Ithala, a comedy-drama where Zuko Nodada directed a cast that includes her to play the role of Nozie, about a reunion of a collective of university friends seven years after.

Nompilo had a break out year in 2015. She was used as the Nosipho Xulu in the SABC1 soapie, Uzalo, the daughter of Muzi and MaNgcobo- a show that ended being the most-watched series in South Africa.

She was seen as a recurring character of the first three seasons. Since the fourth season, she became the part of the star cast.
