Early Life & Roots
Anele Dladla is the son of Sese Dladla, a successful taxi owner in KwaZulu-Natal who was born on 30 November 1990 in KwaMashu in Durban North. He was born and brought up in a family of five children, and his family was great at working, which made the person develop the spirit of the entrepreneur and attachment to the surroundings.
Entry into Music
He loved performance at a tender age. He sang in his church choir, and sang to his friends his vivacious vocal peculiarities, which made him know as mshunqisi, or party-bringer. An online video of him DJing at a high school party was what got the attention of the industry contacts and started his career in music.
Breakthrough & Gqom Stardom
He became known as the guest singer on Omunye by Distruction Boyz and Benny Maverick that has won the Record of the Year at the 2018 SAMAs and featured in the movie Black Panther. He has his memorable solo hits, such as: “Memeza,” “Pakisha” (co-produced by DJ Tira and Distruction Boyz),” Amalukuluku, Chothoza, Izibalo, Thuta, Sesfikile, and Samba Nabo, which he released alongside J’something, Beast and SpiritBanger. In 2018, his first album, Umshunqo, established him in of dance music of South Africa.
Chef, Caterer & Entrepreneur
Anele is an old food enthusiast who got hospitality experience since she was nine years old and became a head chef when she was sixteen. He started Amathiba Catering and started serving Foods at Mshunqo Bites that has a permanent place at the Greyville region in Durban.

He is immensely attached to his place of origin, and participates in the community development by associating himself with the local township businesses; he is involved in school shoe distribution and advertising local enterprises.
He loves the idea of preserving and celebrating Gqom as an original Durban born genre. There is a spiritual/street mixture in each beat of his voice.
Recent & Upcoming Projects
He issued the club single, Yini Lengaka, which has Goldmax, DJ Tira, and Siboniso Shozi. He also resurrected his Usuku Lomshunqo Music Festival; the fifth annual one will take place on 30 November 2024 in Durban CBD and will feature the best South African artists. He still plays at major shows like the Durban Spar Womens Challenge and also takes part in the releases of other artists like Busiswas album, Summer Life.
